Cast Iron Trivet with Rooster

Where: Random NJ Yard Sale
Paid: 50¢

Old, missing the colorful tile in the center. I like this better as a iron picture Frame.

Vintage 1920's Leather Welder's Goggles

Where: Estate Sale, NJ
Paid, about $2

Nice find in the bottom of a toolbox in the Basement of the Estate. These can also be used to view an eclipse, whenever the next one happens I'll be the one wearing these.  Excellent accessory for Steampunk couture.

Wacky vintage Japanese Analog Calculator

Where: Salvation Army
Paid, about $1

Division was implemented on later models
Interesting calculator for the late 1960's made in Japan.  Use the brass stylus to drag down the toothed rails and count away.  Like an abacus, with numbers. Sure, adding is a cinch, good luck doing multiplication or any type of division on this.

Two wrongs make 93.315

Blue Whirl - 1950's Egg Beater

I've always had a small fascination of egg-beaters.  My grandmother always let me play with the beater, I would be spinning and giggling away.
Even though a little rusty, it still has character.   You can usually find these at some good sales, and especially online. I think Blue Whirl has been making these since the 19-teens..

Arrow 201 Stapler

I like old staplers. I like that they were made of the heavy feel of steel.  I like that these and other office supplies came in this drab Green and of course, chrome.....

This 1960's Stapler comes from good ol' Brooklyn, New York by the Arrow Fastener Company. The best thing anyone will say about this, and was the first thing I noticed, was the 3-way staple setting. Can be pivoted to set for closed, open, and 'temporary' stapling. This one is exceptionally clean, works, and still had old staples in it.

1920's Fitzgerald "Star-Rite" Waffle Maker

Where: Estate Sale in Pequanock NJ.
Paid: $7

Someone's Aunt passed and had the house open for a nice sale. There was a lot of old stuff there, this was the first piece I seen when I walked through the back door to the kitchen.

This one was the Fitzgerald company's top-of-the-liner in the late 1920's. There's a green jewel on the dome knob, and an interesting temperature gauge that wants you to "Wait for total eclipse."

..well I don't know, but the only total eclipse visible in the US at that time was after the 20's, so that must have been one well-done waffle.

The Eclipse gauge is great, but seems the original owner used some metal putty on one side to keep it together. Some research
revealed the design for the gauge was flawed and fell apart (p.72) after much waffle madness.

Chrome Paper Towel/Wax Paper Bin

Where purchased: Probably a Salvation Army
Paid: I think about $4

Everyone's Grandma had one of these in the kitchen. Chrome Bin with tabs to keep the rolls inside. Cursive stamp "Paper Towels" and "Waxed Paper" because you always needed waxed paper for all that baking going on back then. Now with Global Warming upon us, baking has slowed wax paper sales to a screeching halt.

Toastmaster Model 2D2 Waffle Iron

Where: Probably the Salvation Army by The Holland Tunnel, NJ.
Paid: I think about $8

To continue with the "Chromed Kitchen" era, here's an awesome Waffle Iron. A Toastmaster model 2D2.

Manufactured  between 1939 and 1959, this one is a nice specimen. Some pitting of the chrome is evident.
